此炉为铜质，器表为古铜沉郁之色，仿商周青铜器簋形制，作圆形器。唇口微翻，收颈，兽吞式双耳，鼓腹下垂，圈足，现庄重华贵之感。炉簋颈部錾暗八宝纹，是为八仙法器，工整细致，炉耳浮雕龙首，龙形威猛矫健，鳞鬣角爪，具悉纤备，夜壑风雷，烟云波没。腹部以缠枝莲纹为饰，枝叶繁茂，十分立体。圈足部饰有卷叶灵芝纹，刻画精细。足内鎏金，底暗刻“胡文明制”篆书款。此炉不仅纹饰精细繁缛，并且造型敦实沉稳，故庄正雅丽，风采绰然，具名家风范。
