|佛典称释迦牟尼在过去世修菩萨道时，于雪山苦行，绝形深涧不涉人间，谓之雪山大士。其形象多为瘦骨嶙峋老人，双腿盘坐，以状其深山独处，思惟坐禅情景。此尊雪山大士像即是明末清初的典型之作。头顶发髻，眉高起，在眉心与鼻准相连，眉毛结成卷状，颧骨耸起，唇上有髭，髯须卷结堆积。容貌奇古而含蓄浑成，趣味隽永，将佛家至高的“止息散心，专注一境”的禅定气象表现得淋漓尽致。整像雪山大士仿钧釉，唯衣褶转折处现胎体颜色，细节处处理精致，衣饰古拙简略。台北故宫博物院收藏有一件类似造型之仿钧釉造像，可资比较。
